How can we think about health and wellbeing in a more complex way and its future in a novel way?
What about all the systems, processes, services and rituals that affect our daily lives?
As part of Honour’s Research, I ran a speculative workshop getting participants to choose their own blend of tea from up to three mixes from the speculative Futuri-Tea House. Each tea was based on different thought experiments on how aspects of our lives might be changed in different ways.
As we discussed why each participant chose their specific blend, we started to unpack and worldbuild what and how wellbeing would be managed and changed in a future world. For example the idea of Fros-Tea led to a discussion about the role of architecture in water storage, or for Inevitabili-Tea, we talked about the cultural role of funerals and the grieving process in these speculative future worlds.
Below are some of the more detailed analyses and reflections on the outcomes of the design experiment.
